During this workshop you will learn how to carve your own unique small to medium size statues using both hand and electric tools. Ideal for both newcomers to carving and experienced sculptors. This course follows the entire carving process from design concept, converting 2D to 3D designs, basic shape building, how/when to add detail, and, soapstone finish options. An infinitely portable and transferable skill set that will give you the freedom to carve creatively in many mediums, whether at home or out in the wilderness.

Encouragement and instruction will be provided by Dawn Allen throughout this workshop. Dawn Allen is the Founder of DDR Centre for Arts & Creativity and has been sculpting in clay and stone for over 10 years. After learning the art of stone carving in the UK, Dawn is now actively carving in Soap Stone which is a beautiful soft stone native to Canada. Attendance in various and multiple classes have given Dawn the ability to develop her sculpting skills.
